Sebastian Lletget admitted that he had “crossed lines that should never have been crossed” almost a week after an unidentified social media user posted evidence about him. allegedly cheating fiancee Becky G.
In a lengthy post on Instagram on Monday, the FC Dallas football star admitted that he made “bad decisions” and pushed the boundaries, but he hasn’t fully dealt with infidelity.
“A 10-minute decision-making error over the past few weeks, at a time I deeply regret, resulted in an extortion plan,” he wrote.
The statement continued: “Since this person didn’t get what they wanted, it has now become a social media spectacle full of lies rather than true and false posts directed at the love of my life, the one person I should never have bought. given or put at risk.”
Although the 30-year-old claimed that he had “never met” with the “anonymous internet stalker”, he admitted to pushing “the boundaries of boundaries that should never be crossed” and described the experience as a “wake-up call”.
He added that he hid “personal trauma and acute anxiety” throughout his career, and that the recent “chaos and pain” of his actions inspired him to start a “mental health programme.”
Lletget ended the post with an apology to the 26-year-old “Shower” singer, whom she proposed to in December after six years of dating.
“For Becky, you have been the light in my life, the strength that has always shown me unconditional love. Instead of honoring that love every day, I did the opposite, hurting you and disrespecting the one person I loved more than anything.
“I am so sorry and I know I must do whatever it takes to regain the trust and love you deserve.”
The pro athlete turned down comments on the post, but fans quickly criticized him on other social media platforms for trying to use his mental health issues as an excuse for his actions.
“What does cheating have to do with the mental health program, like?” someone wrote from Twitter. “Literally pretending to make excuses, depression/anxiety.”

The allegation came after an Instagram account named @ja29poo claimed that Lletget had cheated on Becky while she was at a club with her teammates in February.
“I will be uploading videos of that night at the Shoko nightclub where I was with @iambeckyg’s boyfriend Sebastion Lletget,” the person wrote on their Instagram Story, translated from Spanish to English.
The user claimed that they couldn’t publish all the alleged evidence because some of it was “too candid”, including a “video of Sebastian naked”.
The person also shared snippets and audio recordings of DMs allegedly between him and Lleteget.
Becky G has yet to make public the cheating rumors or her fiancé’s statement. Representatives of neither party responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
