Bebe Rexha revealed that her polycystic ovary syndrome caused her to gain 30 pounds amid fan reaction to her changing body.
“I went to the doctor last year – and actually a lot of women have it and they don’t know it – but they diagnosed it [me] “With PCOS, who has polycystic ovary syndrome,” Rexha said on the “Jennifer Hudson Show” on Thursday.
He added that hormonal disorder is “one of the leading reasons women gain weight and become obese.”
“I literally jumped 30 pounds really fast, maybe a little more. But we just have to be positive and show people love.”
The 34-year-old singer, whose real name is Bleta Rexha, urged TikTok users to comment on her “always struggling” weight last month.
While Rexha says she knows that criticism is part of being in the public eye, the “I’m Good (Blue)” singer wishes people would stop making weight gain so important.
“I was much leaner and gained some weight – that comes with the area. I’m not mad because it’s true, but when you see things like this, it makes you uncomfortable,” he told Hudson.
“You don’t know what someone has been through, what they’ve been through in their life, so it’s kind of hard. But I feel like we’re in 2023… We shouldn’t be talking about people’s weight,” he added.
Rexha has been very outspoken about body image issues in the past and admitted that she was “ashamed” about her body after indulging in the holidays in 2021.

“I just got weighed down and I don’t feel comfortable sharing the weight because I’m embarrassed,” Rexha said in tears on TikTok. “I feel disgusting, like I’m in my own body.”
The Grammy-winning actress even told fans at the time that she “probably took a social media break because she wasn’t feeling well.” [her] skin.”
Fortunately, the singer regained her self-confidence and urged fans to “normalize” the 165-pound women in the underwear-clad video a few months later.
