Bebe Rexha criticizes body-shaming trolls and TikTok search suggestions for continuing to criticize her fluctuating weight.
“Yeah, I’m on my fat period and what?” “Me, Myself and I” singer tweeted on fridaynext to a mirror selfie taken with her belly open in the bathroom.
The songwriter accompanied the tweet with a screenshot of TikTok’s suggestions for other people’s search suggestions in the app, which included phrases like “baby rexha is fat” and “baby rexha is getting fat the same way”.
The popular video-sharing app also suggested “bebe rexha fat at halftime” and “bebe rexha before and after”.
In April, Rexha criticized TikTok for similarly suggesting the search phrase “baby rexha weight” to users.
“It’s so sad to see this search bar,” said 33-year-old Rexha. He tweeted on April 16. “I’m not angry because that’s true. I’ve gained weight. But it sucks. Thank you to everyone who loves me no matter what.”

On April 25, the body-positive singer revealed that the weight gain she “always struggled with” was attributed to her diagnosis of PCOS, or polycystic ovary syndrome.
“I literally jumped 30 pounds really fast, maybe a little more. “But we just have to be positive and show people love,” Rexha, whose real name is Bleta Rexha, said on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”
Rexha admitted that criticism about being in the public eye “comes with the area”, but the amount of attention she’s garnered from her weight gain has “confused” her.
“You don’t know what someone has been through, what they’ve been through in their life, so it’s kind of hard. But I feel like we’re in 2023… We shouldn’t be talking about people’s weight,” he said.
Rexha’s relationship with her body and her struggle with body image made headlines in 2021 when the artist said she was the “heaviest person ever” after eating out during the holidays.
In a video posted on TikTok at the time, Rexha called herself “disgusting” for weighing more than she was used to, causing her to feel “embarrassed”.
“I’m not feeling well and I don’t want to post when I’m not feeling well, and really that’s really the reason why I haven’t posted anything in the past year. It used to be,” Rexha said.
But the “Say My Name” artist has been singing a different tune in the past years since her vulnerable moment on TikTok.
Last month, Rexha proudly showed off her curves in a tight tailored little black dress by Defaïence on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
