Ariana Grande calls on Lizzo to practice her message of body positivity.
“THIS BODY IS ART,” Grande wrote on her Instagram Story Thursday to share a video of Lizzo in a bikini calling for an end to the “tired” discourse surrounding musicians’ bodies.
The “7 Rings” singer continued to tag her Grammy-winning friend and said “ilysm”. [I love you so much]”
In the powerful clip, “About Damn Time” hit producer, 34, reminded his followers, “Are we aware that artists are not here to fit in? your beauty standards? Artists are here to make art.”
After being flooded with a series of negative comments about her physical appearance, Lizzo added, “I wish those comments were costly. [sic] we have money to see how much time we spend on the wrong thing. Can we leave that s-t there, please?
Earlier this week, 29-year-old Grande urged the masses to “comment more gently and less casually about people’s bodies” after stepping out in London looking “worryingly thin”.
In her long TikTok about the ordeal, the “Wicked” star said she felt the need to address her fans’ “concerns” about her weight.
“The body you were comparing my current body to was the most unhealthy version of my body. I was taking too many antidepressants, drinking and eating poorly,” he explained.
“[I was] At the lowest point of my life, when I looked like you thought I was healthy, but it wasn’t really my health.
While he doesn’t go into details, the “Victorious” alum states, “You never know what someone is going through, so even if you come from a place of love and compassion, that person is probably working on it.” or they have a support system they are working on.”
