Alec Baldwin tries to bless himself after prosecutors say they have dropped all charges against him in the murder of “Rust”.
The 64-year-old Emmy-winning actor thanked his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, and attorney Luke Nikas on Instagram Thursday for helping them get through tough times.
“I owe this woman everything I have,” he added with a flick of his wife, and added, “(and to you, Luke)”
The post came just hours after it was revealed that special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis were planning to dismiss charges of involuntary manslaughter without prejudice.
“We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and to encourage an appropriate investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident,” Baldwin’s attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro told CNN.
Despite the good news, Morrissey said the dismissal was “temporary pending further investigation”, given the fact that one of Alec’s co-defendants, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, has not yet been acquitted.
Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed on the set of the movie in October 2021 after a live bullet was accidentally fired from Alec’s gun and hit Alec in the chest.
Director Joel Souza was also shot and injured, but no charges have been made regarding his injuries.
Alec maintained his innocence in February, pleading not guilty to charges that could sentence him to 18 months in prison.

Meanwhile, Hilaria’s support for Alec has never wavered, and the yoga instructor has often praised her husband on social media.
Coincidentally, filming for “Rust” will resume in Montana this week with help from Hutchins’ widow, Matthew Hutchins, who is now one of the film’s executive producers.
Shortly after the tragic shooting, Alec reached a settlement with Hutchins’ family in the wrongful death lawsuit.
The actor is still being sued by three “Rust” team members, who allege they have experienced symptoms of anxiety and PTSD since the incident.
