Apparently their divorce is red, white and overdue.
Reese Witherspoon looked radiant as she visited her attorney’s office in Nashville on Friday, her divorce from Jim Toth.
Witherspoon, 47, was seen in a good mood as she visited the office of her lawyer, Marlene Eskind Moses.
Gullett Sanford was photographed sitting in his car parked outside Robinson & Martin PLLC chatting with two women.
The “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde” star was seen shining with a toothy smile the same day as she went out with her 74-year-old mother, Betty, and 50-year-old brother, John.
Witherspoon was apparently on his way to lunch with family members.
The Hello Sunshine founder showcased her Elle Woods aesthetic in a bright pink sweater, white pants, and brown high heels.
She topped the look with cat-eye sunglasses and Valentino carried a crossbody bag.
Witherspoon’s legal outing comes just days after news broke that she has officially filed for divorce from 52-year-old Toth, after nearly 12 years of marriage.
The “Morning Show” actor cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation in court documents that TMZ received on Saturday.
The file also states that she and her talent agent signed a prenuptial agreement in March 2011 that would provide “adequate and adequate provisions” for their assets and debts.
The couple, who shares a 10-year-old son, Tennesse, with whom she has not met, must enroll in mandatory parenting courses in Davidson County and will have 60 days to present a certificate of completion to the court.
Witherspoon will reportedly also submit her prenuptial agreement and permanent parenting plan for the judge’s approval.
“Cruel Intentions” graduate and Toth announced their separation in a joint Instagram statement on March 24, just days before they celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary.
“We have some personal news to share. It was with great care and thought that we made the difficult decision to divorce,” the ex-girlfriends explained.
The two added that “they have had many wonderful years together and have moved forward with all that we have created together with deep love, kindness and mutual respect.”
Toth and Witherspoon, who is also the mother of daughter Ava, 23, and son Deacon, 19, along with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, shared that they want to prioritize their sons alongside the rest of the family as they navigate their separation.
“These issues are never easy and very personal. We really appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy right now.”
Last week, Page Six reported that Withrespoon’s marriage to Toth was falling apart as it turned into a platonic partnership and had “zero romance” towards the end.
“There’s no major scandal or drama, just two people who are essentially co-parents and no longer really have romantic feelings for each other,” an insider said.
Another source said that their separation came a long time ago.
