Wherever Angelina Jolie goes, the cameras will follow her.
Last week, Page Six reported that the Oscar-winning actor enjoyed a three-hour lunch with David Mayer de Rothschild, the youngest handsome heir to the Rothschild banking fortune, at the celebrity haunt Nobu in Malibu, California.
The 47-year-old star left the restaurant with a smiling 44-year-old Rothschild, looking fresh-faced with almost no make-up and wearing a tight-fitting black dress with cutouts.
Single since her bitter divorce from Brad Pitt, British explorer, environmentalist, writer and filmmaker de Rothschild seems like the kind of man Jolie would want to date.
But de Rothschild is married to Ukrainian actress Karina Deyko, a brunette beauty like Jolie, and the two share a sprawling bohemian complex on Venice Beach. Deyko declined to comment.
Indeed, sources confirmed that the Nobu lunch was a business meeting attended by a small group of people.
But, as always, Jolie has a knack for making even a business meeting look interesting.
The actress has kept her private life quiet since her split from her third husband, Pitt, in 2016. The couple is engaged in two legal battles, one over their children and the other over the French chateau and winery Miraval.
However, Jolie has apparently had a fling or two since her divorce.
A top Hollywood source told us he was “absolutely in a relationship” with The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye), who counts supermodels Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez among his exes.
The couple was first seen leaving LA restaurant Giorgio Baldi in July 2021.
While sources close to the 33-year-old “Blinding Lights” singer wanted to tell Page Six it was a business lunch at the time, both were photographed just weeks later at a private concert attended by their daughters Jolie. Shiloh, Zahara, now 18 and 16 years old. That September, the couple was also spotted having dinner again at Giorgio Baldi’s.
Jolie promotes “The Eternals” while E! The reporter asked him if he was more excited because his six children were in a Marvel movie or because he was friends with The Weeknd.
“They’re so excited about this movie… if that’s what you’re asking,” Jolie replied, turning to cast a glance at her co-star Salma Hayek.
The Weeknd representative and Jolie were not available for comment.
Then, in January, Jolie and Shiloh were spotted drinking coffee with “Normal People” favorite Paul Mescal in London after watching the 27-year-old actor perform in “A Streetcar Named Desire” at the Almeida Theatre.
But Page Six is told that there is “nothing” romantic in Jolie and Mescal’s friendship.
Jolie has made it absolutely clear that she is focusing on “recovering” after her divorce.
He told British Vogue in 2021: “The past few years have been pretty tough. I focus on healing our family. It’s slowly coming back as the ice melts and blood returns to my body.”
In 2017, she bought Cecil B. DeMille’s famous home for $24.5 million and lives there with her 19-year-old son Pax, an emerging artist, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. The actress’s 21-year-old eldest son, Maddox, studies at Yonsei University in South Korea, and Zahara is a student at Spelman college in Atlanta.
Jolie revealed that she chose the property because she wanted her children to be close to Pitt, 59, who lives just five minutes away.
But this week, it was reported that Pitt, who was with “Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley’s ex-wife Ines de Ramon, sold his Los Feliz mansion for $39 million because he wanted to downsize, despite a source who knew him. He also said that he would not move in with Ramon.
Jolie and Pitt have been fighting the legal battle over custody of their children since Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016.
Pitt has a strained relationship with some of his children following the now infamous private plane incident that led to the couple’s separation.
In August 2022, Jolie requested the release of an FBI report on the incident, which Pitt said “physically and verbally assaulted” her and her children on the plane. The FBI refused to file a lawsuit against Pitt, who later insisted that he “wouldn’t have anything” that he didn’t do.
“This is a case of parental alienation,” said a source familiar with the custody fight this week. “So sad.”
In 2021, Jolie won her appeal to dismiss their special judge, John Ouderkirk, from the case after claiming to have business interests with Pitt.
“They’re pretty much back to the start,” the source said. “Brad is pissed off but to be honest there has been no movement lately while the lawyers are doing their job. Angelina has been quiet for about six months, so things seem to have calmed down between them for now.
However, Page Six said the couple still hasn’t spoken.
They are also still at war over Miraval, the castle they married in 2014.
In June, Pitt, who produced a skincare line under the name Château Miraval, accused Jolie of deliberately trying to “harm” herself by selling half of her property to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler. The company that makes the flagship Russian vodka Stolichnaya has been renamed Stoli.
Court documents filed in Los Angeles that refer to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine claimed that “the Stoli brand, which has made desperate attempts to sever its ties with the Putin regime, has now become a major international responsibility.”
The “Moneyball” actor claimed in the lawsuit that Jolie sold her stake in the bond without her consent, something they had previously agreed on a requirement, but Page Six was told it was a “verbal” agreement.
Lawyers are still debating. While Jolie’s lawyers still have to hand over the information they promised as part of the discovery process, another legal file seen by Page Six makes it clear that a debate has arisen over whether the documents were destroyed by Jolie or Shefler’s camp.
As for the future, Jolie announced in December that she was leaving her role as Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
“I will continue to do everything I can to support refugees and other displaced people in the years to come.” “After 20 years of working within the UN system, I feel the time has come to work differently, engage directly with refugees and local organizations and support solutions advocacy.”
A source close to the actress told People that Jolie “decided to leave UNHCR in order to devote much of her efforts to helping support and empower the groups led by those most directly affected by conflict, and to raise their voices and leadership.”
He has worked with locally managed organizations such as the MJP Foundation, which he founded in Cambodia in 2003.
Jolie recently launched the non-profit “Women for Bees” in Mexico. The aim of the program is to empower local women through their work and learn how to take care of bees.
And she’s still acting – in October it was announced that Jolie will star in the biography of opera singer Maria Callas, directed by Oscar nominee Pablo Larraín.
Many Hollywood sources said that this could lead to another Oscar nomination for the star, but who will be up her sleeve on the red carpet is yet to be seen.
As an insider said about Jolie: “She will not stay single forever!”
