“All night long”? Not anymore.
Lionel Richie, 73, said he was lucky if he could stay in bed for 15 minutes.
In a joint interview with “American Idol” judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan on Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” the singer discussed the background to her song “All Night Long,” which turns 40 this year.
“When I wrote ‘All Night Long,’ it was really all night,” Richie joked as the crowd cheered and laughed. “Now my ‘all night’ is reduced to a fierce 15 minutes.”
“But don’t worry, we’ll talk about that later,” she continued.
“Fifteen minutes? Perry, 38, said to the person who topped the Commodores charts, “And remember that, okay?”
The “California Gurls” singer said, “As long as it’s not four times a night, seven days a week.”
Bryan, on the other hand, looked shocked and almost embarrassed by his fellow judge’s confession.

While she’s not busy “all night” these days, that’s clearly enough for longtime boyfriend Lisa Parigi.
The couple, who has a 40-year age gap between them, is believed to have started dating after meeting at a dinner party in 2014.
“I’m a guy who’s had the ups and downs of love,” Richie said when asked about Parigi in 2019 to People.
She added, “It’s extremely beautiful, but most importantly, it’s smart and it helps me cope with my crazy world.”
Prior to this relationship, the music veteran was married to his high school sweetheart Brenda Harvey-Richie.
The former couple, who married in 1975, adopted daughter Nicole Richie before splitting up in 1993.
He moved on with Diane Alexander in 1995 and the couple welcomed children Sofia Richie and Miles Richie before splitting up in 2004.
