Sharon Stone is speaking out about the sexual harassment she faced early in her Hollywood career.
Stone, 65, appeared on Kelly Ripa’s SiriusXM podcast Let’s Talk Off CameraThe actress claimed she was sexually harassed by a former Sony executive during a meeting at the company’s offices in the 1980s.
Stone did not name the manager when describing the experience, which she said occurred some time after she first moved to Los Angeles.
“I’ve been here for a few years and I’ve been wearing my best [to this meeting]and I still remember it so vividly because when you’re young you only have one good outfit,” she told Ripa, 53. “I was so excited to wear my special outfit and meet the president of Sony.”
“He walks around the office and does the same thing, [saying], ‘Oh, it’s true what they say about you’ and ‘You are so beautiful. We haven’t seen anyone like you in decades. “Everybody’s talking about you and looking at you,” he recalls. “‘You’re the most expressive. ‘You’re so smart and beautiful, and you’ve got that hair.’ ”
Stone alleges that the manager “came in front of me and said, ‘But first…’ and took his penis out in front of my face.”
Sony representatives did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Wednesday.
“Of course, I was very young and what I did when I was nervous, because I’m basically a very cheerful person, I started laughing,” Stone said. “I started laughing and crying at the same time and I couldn’t hold it back because I went into hysterics. I couldn’t stop so he didn’t know what to do. Of course he put it aside and walked out of this door behind his desk.”
Stone said he thought he left the meeting after the manager’s response and continued sitting in his office until a secretary escorted him out.

“This was not the last of many such strange experiences in my career,” he added. Stone described the experience after she said she was hit by an artist who was singing a song about sexual harassment at a recent concert she attended in Los Angeles.
“When I heard this girl say that [song] “You have to understand that this happened to me in 1980 and now we’re in 2023, so 43 years later,” he said. “And I see this young girl and I’m ashamed that the same thing happened.” [still happens]. But at least he’s on stage and telling the world.”

During the interview, Stone told Ripa that she believed she “couldn’t give information about a studio head from 1980 because Sony would never hire me again,” but claimed that her past assertions about her experiences in the film industry had a positive impact on this issue.
