His title as Sexiest Man Alive may be coming to an end, but Chris Evans will always hold a special place in our hearts.
The titleholder of 2022 has accomplished a lot throughout the year, where she’s been sexy, gotten married, released more hits, and of course spent plenty of quality time with her dog, Dodger.
As PEOPLE prepares to announce 2023’s Sexiest Man Alive on Tuesday night, November 7 Jimmy Kimmel Live, Take stock of Evans’ last few hours in the top flight with a look back at the highlights from the past 12 months.
He got married!

In PEOPLE’s cover interview, Evans said he “absolutely” wants to get married and have kids.
“I love the idea of tradition and ceremony, I’ve had a lot of those in my life, so the idea of creating this I can’t think of anything better,” she shared.
And he soon went on to marry his girlfriend, Alba Baptista, in a private ceremony on Cape Cod in early September.
“They got serious very quickly,” a source told PEOPLE. “He kept saying he knew it was her.”
Released Two New Projects

The actor released two films in 2023: action-romance Ghost With Ana de Armas and more recently, Bitter Swindlers, Also starring Andy Garcia and Emily Blunt (above).
The movie was based on real-life events (adapted from a movie). New York Times Magazine article and subsequent book, Pain Hustlers: Crime and Punishment in an Opioid Startup) follows Blunt and Evans as pharmaceutical sales representatives dealing with pain management.

Hung With Dog Dodger (And Other Adorable Pups)

In honor of National Dog Day in August 2023, Evans made a surprise visit to Animal Haven in New York City to promote dog adoption.
“There are thousands of dogs all over the country waiting to be adopted, just like my dog, Dodger,” Evans said at the beginning of the video. He ended the clip covered in puppies.
Earlier in the year, Evans and Dodger gave PEOPLE a look at their collaboration with dog food brand Jinx. And the actress couldn’t stop singing her praises.
“He’s so honest. He’s so sincere that he has no idea who I am, I’m just his man, that’s all,” Evans said. “And it’s so refreshing. There’s something about him that feels like a whole new spirit, and it makes me smile every time I see him.”
Gave Fans What They Wanted at Comic Con

Evans was all smiles during her New York Comic Con appearance in October 2023 and gave fans a few details about her two “wonderful and beautiful” weddings to Baptista in Portugal and the US.
“Planning a wedding goes into a lot. “For those of you who are married, you know it takes a lot out of you,” the actor said at the event. “But now that we’re over it, we’re enjoying life and getting ready for my favorite season, fall. Now we’re just relaxing, enjoying life, and thinking.”
