Jamie Foxx is mourning the loss of a close friend.
On Thursday, Foxx, 55, shared the news of his friend Keith Jefferson’s death on Instagram, writing “this hurts.”
“Keith, you have been nothing but an absolute blessing, your whole life your heart was pure, your love was immeasurable, you were an amazing soul,” Foxx wrote in the caption.
“We will all miss you so much. This is going to take a long time to heal,” Foxx added. “Bye, buddy. I love you.”
In another post, Foxx added: “Everything hurts right now, we’re having a hard time looking at these pictures, reliving memories of when we had a great time, we’ll miss you man, we’ll miss you.”
He continued: “Since we met in college, you have been in an incredible mood, God has been at peace, MY FRIEND RIP @keith.jefferson I NEVER THOUGHT I HAD TO SEE THE WORDS ABOUT Keith”
According to his personal website, Jefferson was an actor, producer, voice actor and acting coach. His IMDb notes that he worked with Foxx until 1998, when he appeared in two episodes of the sitcom. The Jamie Foxx Show.
Jefferson also appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 film. ChainlessFoxx’s 2022 film starring Foxx day shift and the actor’s new movie to bury.
Jefferson announced on Instagram on August 9 that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
Foxx wrote on Instagram on August 30: “I met Keith in college and we have a deep friendship and kinship. I ask for prayers from everyone. I ask God to heal your body and mind… honestly. @keith.jefferson more fighting because you are blessed. I love you.”

In addition to his work with Foxx, Jefferson continued working with Tarantino in 2015. hateful eight and 2019s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The actor shared a trailer. to bury “It’s finally here and what a blessing it was to work with such an amazing group of actors on this movie. An all-star cast alongside Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones and my most important role is history,” he wrote in a caption on his Instagram last month.
Jefferson also shared the same photo of himself and Foxx on his Instagram account on the same date Foxx first shared the image. Jefferson wrote that “my admiration for my friends is unmatched,” before thanking Foxx and fellow friend Rodney Mason for supporting him.
“J Foxx… you already know. The fact that you spend time with me every hour of every day tells me everything I already know,” Jefferson wrote at the time. “You are my family and I couldn’t have it any other way. I love you, brother. I will make it through because my faith is strong and with God on my side, I won’t worry.”
Jaime’s daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, commented on the post: “I love you so much Keith.”
