Jonathan Majors has been dating his girlfriend Meagan Good since May 2023.
Faith III actor and Shazam: Wrath of the Gods The actress first connected after they were spotted together on a movie date.
Reports of their relationship come two months after Majors was accused of physically assaulting a woman while she was boarding a taxi in New York in March. Court documents from the Manhattan district attorney’s office and obtained by PEOPLE say Majors “[struck the victim] “He was brought close to the face with an open hand, causing severe pain and a laceration behind his ear.”
Majors “completely denies assaulting the woman,” according to his lawyer Priya Chaudhry. Chaudhry also claims that the woman involved was not honest about her version of events.
“Yet this sham trial continues, the woman’s alleged location changes, and her story changes,” Chaudhry told PEOPLE after the hearing in May. said. “This is a witch hunt based on baseless allegations against Jonathan Majors. Rather than dismissing the allegations in the face of the woman’s blatant lies, the prosecutor adjusted the charges to fit her new lies.”
A month later, Chaudhry said Majors filed his own domestic violence complaint and said the time he spent with the alleged victim was a “permanent nightmare in their relationship.”
Since May, Majors has appeared in court several times accompanied by Good.
The two first publicly acknowledged their relationship in September 2023, when they appeared together at the Congressional Black Caucus’ eighth annual Black and White Gala. At the event, Majors referred to Good as “ma’am.”
Good was previously married to DeVon Franklin before their separation in December 2021. The former couple finalized their divorce in June 2022, just a week after their 10-year anniversary.

PEOPLE confirms that the two are dating after Majors and Good were spotted heading to see a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse in Los Angeles. The news comes after Majors was arrested and arraigned virtually the same week following assault and harassment charges.

Harlem The actress grew closer to Majors amid the assault accusations, and their friendship turned romantic during that time, a source told PEOPLE.
“Meagan and Jonathan have been friends for a while now,” the source said.
“Meagan has shown him significant support,” the insider continued. “Their relationship seems to have improved even more from that point.”

The couple was photographed holding hands as they got off the plane. They were traveling together from New York to Los Angeles while the Majors awaited their next court date.

Majors arrived at Manhattan Criminal Court in New York for a hearing flanked by Good. They were photographed holding hands as they entered and exited the courtroom.
Majors wore a brown suit, while Good wore a white dress and a light brown jacket. At his arraignment, Majors simply said good morning to the judge and accepted an order to appear in court for his arraignment on August 3.

Although Good received some backlash for dating Majors due to the allegations against him, her friends were supportive of her decision to date whoever she wanted, a source close to the actress tells PEOPLE.
“This isn’t the best situation, of course, but they’re letting him make his own decisions,” the source said. “It was a bit surprising to see him leave. [ex-husband DeVon Franklin]Faith is at the heart of their marriage to Jon, but after being with the same person for so long and things not working out, it’s understandable why she would choose someone completely different.
The source added that Good’s divorce from Franklin was “difficult” for her. “The divorce was very difficult for her, and the decision to end the marriage was something both she and DeVon took very seriously,” the source said, adding that “she has a really good heart.”
The source also added that Good and Majors’ relationship has become “more serious.”

However, Majors did not appear on the Instagram carousel celebrating Good’s birthday, where she posed in a strapless green dress.

The couple first publicly revealed their relationship at the Congressional Black Caucus’ eighth annual Black and White Gala in Washington, D.C., hosted by Good and Larenz Tate.
In his speech recorded on a camera Video clip published on XGood handed the microphone to the Majors.
“We’re so happy to be here with you tonight, celebrating us, celebrating the moves we’ve made, celebrating the way we love and support each other, the way we’re changing the world. Let’s have fun!” He said fine.
“There are so many beautiful Black faces. I love us y’all! We are so beautiful! That’s all I have. I’m happy to be here and I love you all!” he continued before turning the topic over to the Majors. “Baby, do you want to say something?”

After Majors called Good “lady” and sparked speculation that he and Good were married, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the two are still in the dating phase of their relationship.
A representative for both Good and Majors did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
