Mark Wahlberg explains how he made a name for himself in Hollywood.
In an on-camera interview, fighter met with star Marvin R. Shaken Cigar Enthusiastdiscusses the role of actor and producer and how he actually started producing projects “out of necessity”.
“The reason I got into producing was because I didn’t want to sit around waiting for Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise or whoever it was that was already established before me and were the guys of the time — and Leo. [DiCaprio]That’s right — I’ll go out and pass on a movie until I get my hands on one,” said Wahlberg, who graces the men’s lifestyle magazine’s latest cover on Sept. 26.
“That’s why I’ve always been proactive about finding materials; things that I can produce and that I know are right for me. Create my own destiny.”
Wahlberg has over 40 producing credits, including many films in which he has appeared. Father Stu, Instant Family And Deep Water Horizon.
He went on to explain that when your name appears above a film’s title, “you reap the rewards of success, but you also bear the burden of failure.”
“If I’m going to be in this position, I’d rather be behind the wheel,” he added. “[If] “You’re driving down the highway at a hundred miles an hour, do you want to be in the backseat or behind the wheel?”
Plus, having more creative control allows him to spend more time with his family. Wahlberg called in October SpeechHe expresses how much he loves being at home.
“I’m home whenever I’m free,” said Wahlberg, who is married to Rhea Durham, with whom he shares 13-year-old daughters Grace and 20-year-old Ella, as well as 14-year-old Brendan and 17-year-old sons Brendan.
The former Calvin Klein model also revealed that she and her family are moving to Nevada and hope to “pass a bill so we can get tax credits for the state, build a state-of-the-art studio here and make it Hollywood 2.0.” ”
“I want to be able to work from home,” he said.

Wahlberg said he and Durham, 44, are coming to Nevada to “give ourselves a fresh look, give the kids a fresh start, and there’s a lot of opportunity here.”
Wahlberg added: “I’m really excited about the future.”
