Tiffany Haddish has a message for her critics.
Girls Trip The 43-year-old star shared a post on X responding to criticism of his treatment of Shakira at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
The comedian faced backlash after Pop Crave posted a video of X following the 46-year-old pop star backstage at the Sept. 12 awards ceremony.
In the clip, Haddish loudly screamed Shakira’s name as she tried to catch up with the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer as she made her way through the crowd and took photos with fans. At the end of the video, the actor approached the singer and took a selfie with a fan.
The comedian also posted a photo of Shakira and “TQG” collaborator Karol G, as well as a solo photo of the “She Wolf” singer with two Moon Person awards (she was honored with the video pioneer award and won the best collaboration award). “TQG” at the ceremony).
After receiving negative reactions to Pop Crave’s post, Haddish responded to it on Friday: “This is sooooo interesting to me. If you feel like me [too] You all better buy @shakira’s new album!”

Night School the star also acknowledged the VMAs’ antics by responding to two posts about her on X.

In addition to adding two new trophies to her Moon Person award collection (bringing her total VMA wins to four), the “Gypsy” singer had nearly the entire crowd on their feet with a high-energy set before accepting the video pioneer award. recognizes an artist’s lifetime achievement.
The singer performed a selection of her hit songs, including “She Wolf,” “Te Felicito,” “Objection (Tango),” “Whenever, Wherever” and “Hips Don’t Lie.”
For the final song, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” the singer went all out, bringing people on stage to dance with her and even crowdsurfing the audience.
In his acceptance speech, he thanked MTV, his record company, his parents and his children, 9-year-old Milan and 7-year-old Sasha, who accompanied him to the ceremony.
Shakira completed her heartfelt speech by expressing her gratitude to her fans.
“And I especially want to share this award with my fans who have always supported me in good times and bad,” he said. “Thank you so much for being my army and helping me in all my battles.”
He continued his speech in Spanish, dedicating the award to his supporters and giving a special greeting to his Latin American fans.
“Lo quiero muchísimo,” he concluded.
