On today’s new episode of Family Trips with Seth Meyers’ Meyers Brothers Podcast, guest Pete Davidson shared updates on the decommissioned $280,000 Staten Island Ferry he bought with his older brother. SNL co-star Colin Jost and the duo plan to turn it into a floating entertainment complex.
“We just had all the blueprints done and we got them to do one of those computer-generated things that show you what could happen, and now we’re up to a few people, and it seems to Davidson, Seth, and Josh Meyers that everything seems to be going well, but it’s definitely about five years away,” he said. .
“We called it a joke [the ferry] Titanic 2 at LLC when we needed to buy it,” Davidson said. “It’s all going to stay the same – the outside is the same, we’ll do our best and make it fit for purpose, we’ll make sure it’s beautiful, but this will be the Staten Island Ferry.”
“From April to September, maybe October, in New York,” Davidson and Jost told the Meyers brothers.
“It’s going to be a restaurant, it’s going to be a concert hall, it’s going to be a movie theater… and then it’s going to have hotels in it, so we’ll have a few hotels, and then in the winter, [we’ll] tug [the ferry] to Miami.”
“Wow, you really thought this through,” Seth Meyers told Davidson.
“We have to, because we’re in the hole,” Davidson snapped. “Colin called me and said, ‘Hey, can you join this call about the ferry?’ ‘Are we still doing that thing?’ It’s like, ‘Yeah, that’s pretty serious.’ And that’s it! I had no idea, I just saw a link and sent a deposit and now I’m stuck with a goddamn boat.
