Minnie Driver claimed that Nicolas Cage’s son bought an additional airplane seat for his imaginary friend.
The “Good Will Hunting” actress told the adorable story as Cage tried to prove she wasn’t the mean-spirited person a fan was trying to show her in an Instagram post shared Monday.
“He was on a plane with NC and his son once, and a seat was purchased for his son’s imaginary friend. 🖤”, the 53-year-old British actress received more than 200 likes.
However, it is unclear which of Cage’s two sons – Kal-El, 17 or Weston, 32 – the actress is talking about.
She told her story after a woman claimed that a hotel manager had asked her and her fiancé to give up the bridal suite so a “celebrity” could stay in the room “for a long time”.
However, the bride claimed that they told her “no”.
“We saw Nicolas Cage walking around our hotel on our wedding weekend,” he continued the claim. “Nik [sic] Cage tried to ruin my wedding, and that’s my story.”
However, Cage’s manager denied that the actor’s son bought a seat for his imaginary friend. He also denied the bride’s allegations.
Cage shares Weston with Kal-El, who was born in 2005 with ex-Christina Fulton and Alice Kim, whom they embraced in 1990.
But in September 2022, Cage gave birth to her first daughter, August Francesca, to Riko Shibata. The duo got married in March 2021.

Cage said he was “extremely excited” to be a father again to Access Hollywood before the birth of his daughter.
“My sons are all grown up and I miss going to the toy store. I miss singing lullabies and rocking in the rocking chair,” she said. “I look forward to getting back to him.”
Cage has been married a total of five times, including his marriage to Erika Koike, which lasted only four days.
He was also previously married to Lisa Marie Presley, who died in January after a cardiac arrest from 2002 to 2004.
“Lisa had the biggest laugh I’ve ever known,” Cage told The Hollywood Reporter at the time of her death. “It brightened every room.”
