So much for the “Duchess of Dior”.
While the Mail on Sunday reported yesterday that Meghan Markle “could be on the verge of signing a big deal with French fashion house Dior to make her the face of the company”, Page Six Style learned that there was no such “mega-dollar” contract. in the works
A spokesperson for the Sussexes similarly told The Telegraph that the allegations were untrue, and a Dior source added that the house’s team were “stunned by how the story unfolded”.
The Daily Mail column comes days after Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, parted ways with Spotify after signing a $20 million deal with the audio publisher in 2020.
“There have been rumors for weeks. [Markle’s] “A major Beverly Hills socialite” is about to sign a deal with Dior that overdrives the gossip factory, she told the Mail.
“If he succeeds, then no one will remember his silly little podcast being canceled after one season.”
It is true that partnerships with big design houses bring big paydays; Johnny’s Depp’s recent Dior deal netted the actor “over $20 million,” according to Variety, with Jennifer Lawrence extending her contract with the brand “between $15 and $20 million” in 2014, as Page Six reported at the time.
But while royal watchers shouldn’t expect Markle to be at the forefront of Dior campaigns any time soon or rubbing her elbows with house ambassadors like Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence and Natalie Portman, she’s a longtime fan of the luxury brand’s makeup and designs.
She’s said to wear Dior Beauty products her entire face on her wedding day in 2018, and she chose a navy blue fit-and-flare frock coat, a cream-colored Dior Haute Couture from the label for the Royal Air Force event in 2018. Dress during the 2019 Morocco tour and a white apron dress and hat from home for a thanksgiving ceremony at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Markle also returned to Dior for more personal moments, wearing the brand at the christening of her son Prince Archie in 2019 and Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. She wore a Stephen Jones hat for Dior for Elizabeth’s funeral.
Prince Harry, meanwhile, wore a three-piece Dior suit to his father’s coronation in May and chose the same tag for his March court appearance.

Today, the style belongs to celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie, Adele and Markle.
