Quincy Jones was admitted to the hospital Saturday afternoon after suffering a medical emergency.
The multiple Grammy Award winner, the 90-year-old “had a bad reaction to some of the foods he ate,” his representative told TMZ on Sunday.
“Due to a lot of caution, she called 911 for help,” the spokesperson added.
Paramedics were called to Jones’ home in Los Angeles and took him to the emergency room.
The representative of the music producer noted that he never lost consciousness and was “in very good spirits” when everything was given to him clean by the doctors.
Page Six also reached out to Jones’ representatives for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.
The famous composer has had his share of health problems over the years.
In 1974, he suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm that required two surgeries and left him with six steel needles in his head.
“I actually had two brain aneurysms,” Jones said in the 2018 documentary “Quincy.”
“So I guess I would classify that I had some experience with brain trauma. Also, my mother was mentally ill.”
“She was a brilliant woman who spoke several languages and had degrees from several colleges, but she had this condition that weakened her and can now be controlled with medication. But back then, during the Depression, they simply blamed you.
His mother, Sarah Jones, was a schizophrenic who suffered from dementia and was taken away in a straight jacket when she was seven.

When asked by Oprah what she learned from her previous struggles in life, Quincy replied, “It’s the same thing brain surgery taught me: you have to tell the people you care about how much you care.”
He added: “Just forget about it all. I was very happy to be alive.”
The “Thriller” producer was last hospitalized at his Bel Air home in 2015 after he fell ill with chest pain and shortness of breath.
His rep told Page Six at the time, “Quincy is fine. He was a little short of breath and very carefully went inside for observation. He’s fine though.”
