Looks like Father’s Day celebrations came early for Chris Pratt.
On Thursday, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star shared a carousel photo on Instagram from her recent fishing trip with her 10-year-old son, Jack, that she shares with her ex-wife Anna Faris.
In one of the photos, Jack proudly posed with his prey while wearing a pair of jeans and an oversized camouflage jacket.
Pratt also looked like he had a successful day in the water as he took a selfie with another big fish.
“God is my shepherd. I will not want. It lays me down in lush meadows. The 43-year-old, who is very outspoken about her faith, captioned “Takes me to Stillwater” on her photos.
“Imagine being taken to a still body of water and seeing your reflection, the face of someone who needs nothing.”
Pratt and Faris divorced in August 2017 after eight years of marriage. While the actor still has a great relationship with his eldest son, many fans feel the same cannot be said for his bond with his ex-wife.
Last month, social media users blasted the movie star out of the Mother’s Day memo for overshadowing Faris.
The Marvel star captioned “Happy Mother’s Day to all moms” under a photo of him with his current wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, mother Maria Shriver and mother Kathy Pratt.
“I am especially grateful for Katherine today. You are such a wonderful partner. You have provided me with a very blessed life. Our two daughters are so lucky to have you,” he said of Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 1 year old.
Not only did he not mention Faris, but he also described Katherine, 33, as “Jack’s best stepmother.”
The apparent opposition didn’t quite fit some of her 44 million followers, who openly described the lack of “appreciation” for “the person who gave you your first child” as “disgusting.”
But this isn’t the first time Chris has been called online for seemingly putting his “new family” first.
The “Terminal List” star made headlines in November 2021 after thanking Katherine for giving him a “healthy baby girl.”
Considering that Jack was born prematurely and has suffered from serious health problems over the years, the comments sparked a stir online.
While some haters accused Chris of teasing his son, the “Jurassic World” actor later harshly criticized the backlash in an interview with Men’s Health.
“This is so ridiculous,” he said. “My son will read this one day. 9 years old. And digitally etched in stone.”
Chris went on to say that the criticism “really bothered him” and added, “I cried about it.”
By the way, Faris never touched on the controversy.
