Rebel Wilson’s diet secrets after weight loss include a shockingly low daily calorie count.
“I was on a program where I actually learned about food, and they taught us that you don’t need as many calories as you think,” the “Pitch Perfect” star told the Daily Mail on Thursday at a launch party for her. The fluid dating app Casamigos hosted at Funke in Beverly Hills, California.
Wilson, 43, claimed that “you really need about 600 calories a day” rather than “1,500 or 2,000”.
While she accepts the idea that “it may sound crazy” to some, the actress believes that “your body doesn’t need as many calories.”
“Everyone thinks you have to eat a lot…but if you eat right and eat small portions, it’s okay,” Wilson said.
“The problem is that people get stuck at a desk or in their car and they tend to get hungry,” he continued. “They want to eat because that’s how they deal with stress or it’s a habit.”

The “Last Year” star, who has lost more than 70 pounds in recent years, said she’s gained weight since welcoming her daughter Royce through surrogate in November 2022.
“I don’t go to the gym as often anymore; I just don’t exercise that much, so this has slowed me down,” the new mom explained, also blaming her for “insomnia” and “change in lifestyle.”
Wilson’s fiancee, Ramona Agruma, also gained weight after giving birth, while the “Isn’t It Romantic” star was “jealous” of her partner’s progress.
“He lost really fast,” Wilson said. “I couldn’t lose the weight that fast.”
The couple made their relationship public via Instagram in June 2022, after an Australian newspaper threatened to shoot “Wedge” alum.
The two got engaged less than a year later at Disneyland, but Wilson told Page Six on Thursday that they had yet to begin the wedding planning process.
“It’s really hard,” he explained. “It was interesting to talk about it, but [we] You don’t have a plan yet.”
