Charlie Puth’s dedication to music seems to come first, as the artist recently shared that he once stopped having sex just to write a song idea.
The idea was “Marks on My Neck” from the 2022 album. charlie — and Puth, 31, has since told the story behind it. Report.
“I wrote the song in the middle of the screen,” he said, adding, “Maybe I should have focused a little more on the play, but the melody came to my mind.”
“I actually stopped and recorded a quick voice memo, and then I had to get back to the show,” Puth explained. “But that’s where that melody came from.”
Sharing some more context about that period of his life, Puth said, “I was forgetting someone and was there a better way? [to do that] than meeting new people? He probably wouldn’t have walked with this person, and that’s what I got energetically, which is okay. It’s all about experience.”
“I remember waking up and looking at myself in the mirror, noticing these marks on my neck, and they were getting better and better every day, but so was the person who put them on me,” Puth continued. “And we went our separate ways. I’m grateful for the experience and maybe they are too, but I just thought it was interesting that the scars on a person’s neck disappeared at the same rate.”
The Grammy-nominated artist also admitted that she “always loved being nude.”
“I’ll be careful how I choose my words because I don’t want people to get it wrong,” he said. “Again, my looks don’t fascinate me but I know I’m not ugly. So sometimes I would look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘I have a really nice ass.'”
Puth said, “What’s wrong with liking your features?” she asked.
The “Attention” singer also mentioned that she likes to be naked outside and said, “I will never be indecent and naked in front of people who don’t want to see me naked. But if I’m in my backyard, there are a lot of trees there and I know no one is looking, I feel safe. You are taking too much vitamin D. Is this what the sun gives?
When asked about her responses to online thirst traps, Puth explained “how she would be lying if I said I didn’t see them.” But I’m not doing this to force this narrative or anything like that. i just exist [a] the constant mode of celebrating my body.
As for his latest music project, Puth says he “didn’t see it as a sexy album.”
“Like a lyrical record with bad habits self-correcting, I had to force myself out of a bad habit in a not-so-great relationship and do a lot of self-reflection and become a better person.” explained.

I’ve always done this for other artists, and I’ve always done it for other people.
