A few minutes before Kelly Ripa took the stage to shoot “Live,” she was almost “turning green” after applying bronzer.
After a warm welcome from the studio audience on Tuesday, Ripa’s co-host and husband Mark Consuelos praised her “beautiful” pale pink dress.
“You don’t even know what’s going on behind the scenes,” he replied. “I wore the dress – and I like this dress – but I look a little pale. So, I bought this spray bronzer, no mess, no fuss. Just spray straight and rub.
However, the 52-year-old “All My Children” graduate says she noticed that her hands were “green now” as she “zipped up the dress.”
“My hands are green!” exclaimed Ripa, palms toward the camera.
“So, if my body starts to turn green, let me know,” he told the audience.
Although Consuelos reassured Ripa that she looks great, he also took the opportunity to throw a quick punch at his wife.
“The telltale sign of spray tanning is the hands. You can always tell,” he said. “But I don’t think you’re pale, I think that’s just compared to what you have to sit next to.”
As the crowd laughed, Ripa replied, “How dare you mock me!”
“It’s not fair to have such good skin,” the man continued with a sly smile, “I know, I’m sorry.”
Toward the end of the episode, a handful of viewers gave Ripa, who thankfully hasn’t “turned green” yet, some advice on how to remove her bronzer.
One person suggested rubbing half a lemon on their hands, while another said the “first trick” was to wash their hands with shaving cream.
Meanwhile, a third person said they could tell Ripa was “tanning more per minute” during the hour-long episode.

Despite completing the show without any major beauty mistakes, the longtime talk show host has been dealing with a string of wardrobe malfunctions in recent months.
A few weeks ago, the blonde beauty had a “little wardrobe emergency” just before she hit the scene – in the dress she ripped the previous month.
Although Ripa was seen frantically trying to tie the front of her dress, she never revealed exactly what happened backstage.
“It was so exciting,” he mocked the audience. “I almost didn’t get out of here!”
“Live with Kelly and Mark” airs weekdays at 9:00 ET on ABC.
