Britney Spears’ family fears she’s going down the same tragic path as Amy Winehouse.
Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and estranged father, Jamie Spears, said in a new interview that they suspected the “Toxic” singer was using drugs and could die as a result.
“I’m afraid he’s using meth – I’m praying for someone to make it public and wake up,” 45-year-old Federline told the Daily Mail on Saturday. “Terrible. She is the mother of my children.”
“Britney could die like Amy,” said Jamie, 70, referring to the “Back to Black” singer who died of alcohol poisoning at the age of 27 in 2011, after years of substance abuse.
“Compare his health then with how he is now,” added the Spears patriarch, whom Britney, 41, accused of harassment during her time as her guardian.
The pop star did not publicly respond to the bombshell interview.
The dire worries came more than a year after the much-publicized end of Britney’s conservatory, which had controlled nearly every aspect of her life for 13 years.

According to the report, her sons Sean Preston (17) and Jayden (16) claim to have seen the drugs delivered to their mother’s home and still refuse to visit her.
“Every time the phone rings, I fear there will be devastating news,” said Federline, who collects $40,000 a month in child support from his ex-wife.
“I don’t want the boys to wake up one morning to find their mom overdosed,” the failed rapper added.
Page Six broke the news last month that Britney had given her children the green light to move with their father to Hawaii after Federline threatened to take her to court.
The Grammy-winning actress, who recently deactivated her Instagram account again, is now married to Sam Asghari, with whom she celebrated her first wedding anniversary this week.
