Susan Boyle revealed that she had a stroke last year and needed to regain her iconic voice.
The Scottish singer shared the news after taking the stage with the West End crew of “Les Misérables” to sing the song “I Dreamed a Dream”, which made him a household name when he was a contestant on “Britain’s Got Talent” on Sunday. The show in 2009.
When Boyle, 62, asked MCs Dec Donnelly and Ant McPartlin what it felt like to be back, “It feels great,” she replied. “Actually it’s very special to me because last April… I had a small stroke.
“I fought like crazy to get back on stage,” he continued. “And I did.”
After their comeback performance, “BGT” creator and jury member Simon Cowell shared some encouraging words for Boyle.
“Susan, we owe you a lot and I knew you weren’t well, but if someone was going to come back, you would come too, because without you nothing would be the same,” he said.
Following her performance, Boyle took to Instagram to share more details about her health scare.
“I had the privilege of coming back to @bgt tonight and performing with @lesmizofficial’s amazing cast,” he added on Instagram in a carousel snapshot from his TV comeback.

“This evening was even more special to me as I had a stroke in April 2022. Over the past year, I’ve worked hard for my sole purpose to be able to sing and sing on stage again, and tonight my hard work and perseverance has paid off, singing the song that started it all, ‘I Dreamed of a Dream.'”
Fans filled Boyle’s comments section with supportive messages.

A third supporter commented, “I’m so glad you regained your strength and beautiful voice, stay safe and take care xx”.
“Forever a fan of yours, Susan, you blessed us with your beautiful voice and self. May your health continue to improve and you always be happy,” said a fourth fan.
Boyle appeared in Season 3 of “Britain’s Got Talent.” Despite being placed in second place, he has had a successful solo career.
In November of the same year, he released “I Dreamed a Dream”, the best-selling debut album of all time in the UK.
