Dominique Fishback remembers a show that went wrong while filming her new movie transformers film.
At the New York City premiere Transformers: Rise of the Monsters On Monday, Fishback, 32, took a closer look at avoiding an accident on the set of the new movie after telling PEOPLE that he was trying to do his own stunts as production would allow.
“There’s a part where I need to go down into the cave. I had a belt and a man is holding it,” she says. “[Director] steven [Caple Jr.] Before descending into the cave, he asked me to come down without looking so that the camera would get closer to my face. But I missed my name.”
“And that’s how I fell back,” Fishback continues as he pantomimes falling backwards. “Anthony [Ramos] ‘Are you ok!’ ”
When asked if the footage was used for the final movie, Fishback says that moment did not come to the screen.
He tells PEOPLE “No, it’s not there”. “But the man had to hold the rope to make sure I didn’t fall. So it could have been really bad.”
Brooklyn natives Fishback and Ramos, 31, star in new movie transformers The film that brings the live-action franchise to 1990s Brooklyn as a 2018 sequel waspSet in the 80’s.
“I’m specifically from East New York and my character is from Brooklyn, East New York. And Anthony’s character will be from Bushwick, just like him,” Fishback tells PEOPLE of the couple, who are starting to represent their hometowns onscreen. “So it’s special to do it here and not just represent characters from Brooklyn, but especially from our neighborhood. Our family and friends are here, and I know they’re going to go crazy when they hear about it.”

The film brings back franchise favorites Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and Bumblebee, who have starred in each of seven live-action shows. transformers The films feature new human cast members Ramos and Fishback meeting the Autobots and a brand new faction of Transformer – the Maximals – to “join them as allies in the current world war,” according to an official synopsis.
Rise of the Monsters‘, the voice cast includes Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, Peter Dinklage, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, and Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal, the new character disguised as a gorilla.
Paramount Pictures previously announced in February 2022 that the new film would form the first part of a planned trilogy. In April, the studio announced that Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Brian Tyree Henry will voice the voices for a separate animated prequel that addresses the origins of the rivalry between the franchise’s main groups, the Autobots and Decepticons.
