The world’s most notorious country supergroup Hot Country Knights is back with two new tracks – and it’s hotter and more provincial than ever before.
With a new project of two songs, Midnight RodeoThe ’90s-sounding heart palpitations are giving fans a reason to listen to them over the three-day Memorial Day Weekend, alongside a new song featuring a woman who looks suspiciously like Lainey Wilson.
“The Knights are back, baby,” shouted lead singer Doug Douglason, whose voice sounds eerily similar to provincial superstar Dierks Bentley himself.
“Being off the road since the Big V (virus) has really made us think about what we’re taking for granted. When you get the chance to really get to the heart of what these songs are all about, it’s just a raw appreciation. The most satisfying parts of life. Nobody’s first six or seven listens. I don’t expect him to understand, this is profound thought.”

The “thinking things” in question are both the project’s title song (which, according to a press release, “isn’t actually about a rodeo”) and Douglasson’s collaborative song “Herassmeant,” which is a duet with his old hometown flame, Darla McFarland.
And when it comes to the “most satisfying parts of life”, vocalist means rear ends.
Douglason, who looks like a mix of Riff Raff and Luke Skywalker, especially in the song, which is an ode to one of the back, reflects what he lost when his love for McFarland faded.
“Yeah, it seems like everyone is talking about harassment these days, and the Knights don’t tolerate that sort of thing,” added Douglason, whose age (or therefore existence) could not be verified by PEOPLE.
“You have to be nice to your lady, tell her how you feel about her, respect her, love her.”

“My ex Darla McFarland, who most people will remember from Teazers in Murfreesboro, was dying to sing on this song. She knew she was the inspiration, so how can we say no? Darla is the best fucking country singer of recent times. I think thirty years,” she continued. he did. “Everybody better hit Tower Records before the CDs run out.”
“There is nothing in country music that strikes better than originality,” McFarland affirmed. “Seeing that I was the inspiration for this song, I thought I could help Doug make a good song great.”
The new track comes with a music video showing the legendary studio session in real time. It seems that Bentley was also on the session as producer alongside Jim Beavers, and Wilson and Luke Dick also earned songwriting credits for the cut.
Douglason is not the band consisting of lead bassist Trevor Travis, lead guitarist Marty Ray (“Rayro”) Roburn, keytar/violinist Terotej (“Terry”) Dvoraczekynski, steel guitarist Barry Van Ricky, and percussionist Monte Montgomery. He’s totally unsure how Bentley got into the mix once again this time around.
