The artists gathered on Monday to commemorate guitarist Jeff Beck, who died in January at the age of 78.
Reuniting at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, who was in a band with Beck in the ’60s, reunited with rock legends in a series of iconic performances in a 2-night memorial for Beck — he shared photos on Instagram of the stars. and their “backstage hi-jinx”.
In honor of Jeff, Wood, 75, wrote in the caption, “I had the best time playing with these great musicians.”
In the photo gallery, stars like Johnny Depp, Imelda May, Nathan East, Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood’s wife Sally Wood were smiling and laughing for the camera.
The British singer posed nose-to-nose with longtime friend and former bandmate Stewart in a second post showing “another great night”.
“There was so much love between him and his friends, so many thanks to everyone who came,” she wrote.

Beck, Stewart and Wood were original members of the Jeff Beck Group, the group Beck formed in 1967. When Beck died, the superstars took to social media to share their love for the guitarist.
“He took me and Ronnie Wood to the US in the late ’60s at the Jeff Beck Group, and we haven’t looked back since,” Stewart, 78, wrote in an Instagram post. “He was one of the few guitarists who actually listened and responded to my singing while playing live. Jeff, you were the best man. Thanks for everything. RIP.”
wood wrote twitter That he felt like “one of my brothers left this world”.
“I will miss him terribly,” she wrote. “I send my regards [his wife] Sandra, her family and everyone who loves her. I want to thank him for our early days of conquering America together at the Jeff Beck Group.”
Among the performers at the commemoration was Depp, 59, who went straight to the concert from the Cannes Film Festival with back-to-back public appearances.
A source told PEOPLE that Depp, who visited Beck at his bedside before his death, sang and danced on stage with Stewart.
Depp’s appearance is part of his resurgence a year after his controversial legal battle with ex Amber Heard, a source told PEOPLE.
“She really enjoys working and traveling again. She has managed to change her life,” the source said. “He puts his health and work first. He was living a devastating life and his family members were worried. Everyone is excited that he’s turning things around. He’s a lot happier too.”
