Tom Hanks dropped the photo search for “Asteroid City” on Wednesday after it went viral for seemingly “scoring” a Cannes Film Festival employee.
However, co-stars Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, and Bryan Cranston attended the post-celebration event where they received a huge round of applause for their work on the Wes Anderson movie.
It’s unclear why the “Forrest Gump” star skipped the promotional event, as both his wife Rita Wilson and said employee Vincent Chapalain dismissed theories that the A-list couple was agitated.
“It’s called ‘I can’t hear you. People are screaming. What did you say? Where shall we go?
“But that doesn’t sell stories! Nice try,” he continued. “Go see Asteroid City!”
Chapalain took to Twitter to support Wilson’s story. tweeting“They just asked me if they needed to go back to the carpet with the rest of the crew (I’m not security)”
Inside follow tweethe added, “And the photographers had to speak out loud with their screams.”

Chapalain worked for the flamboyant Cannes Film Festival for ten years.
While Hanks’ interaction with Chapalain was downright cordial, the “Cast Away” star was caught yelling at fans last year after he nearly knocked out his wife.
“Don’t do that!” Wilson, 66, shouted.
“My wife? Back off! To topple my wife?!” Hanks, also 66, screamed before the couple rushed into a waiting car.
Later, a fan was heard apologizing and saying, “I’m sorry about that, Tom.”
Wilson and Hanks have been married for 35 years. They met in 1981 on the set of “Bosom Buddies,” a sitcom that ran from 1980 to 1982; However, they started out as friends as he is still married to his first wife and college sweetheart Samantha Lewes.
