Matthew Lawrence shares his #MeToo story.
The actor told listeners of the “Brotherly Love” podcast on Friday that he lost his Marvel role after refusing to undress for a director.
While Lawrence didn’t identify the person in question, he described them as “very prominent” in the industry.
“I lost my agency because I went to a hotel room where I couldn’t believe that a very famous Oscar-winning director would send me. The 43-year-old claimed he should have bought my Polaroids.
“If I did X, Y and Z, I would be the next Marvel character,” he said.
Doubtfire” star told her co-hosts and siblings Joey Lawrence and Andrew Lawrence that she was later “fired” by her agency.

“I think a lot of guys in the industry just didn’t come up and talk about it,” Matthew added, adding that he’s been “offered to take an important role on many occasions” in his life.
The “Boy Meets World” graduate dating TLC member Chilli explained that her experience is “about a third of what women go through.”
She continued as follows: “Men also experience this, whether it’s another woman or another powerful man. I think our society is less ready than women to hear about this happening to men.”
Joey, 47, interrupted when he found himself “at that crossroads” to say he had “lost many … great movie pieces”.
Matthew praised Terry Crews for sharing his own sexual assault story in November 2017.
The 54-year-old “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star tweeted that “a top Hollywood executive … groped her on a “duty” last year, saying the man was William Morris Endeavor executive Adam Venit.
Crews sued the representative in December 2017, and the duo agreed to settle the case in September of the following year.
