Dorit Kemsley’s slightly darker ‘do’ is indicative of a new era.
“I felt I needed a change,” the 46-year-old “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, now a brunette, told Page Six Style at Saturday night’s Homeless Not Toothless Hollywood Gala.
“Being blonde is very upkeep,” she said, before joking about her previous grooming, “And I’m so groomed that I feel like my hair shouldn’t be that high maintenance!”
The Beverly Beach by Dorit designer, known for her impeccable fashion sense, said her “honey bronze” locks inspired her to “explore other elements” of her style.
“My style really represents my mood and how I feel. “I dress myself,” said Kemsley, who rarely works with a stylist and prefers to source the clothes himself.
“I don’t know why I took it upon myself and created more work for myself, but I’m very particular about it,” he detailed. “So, I guess for me, brown hair… I wanted something fresh, I wanted something different, and I was like, ‘You know what? It’s about time.'”

“Of course I was proud. I mean, who wouldn’t?” Kemsley added with a chuckle, “And since our ages are so close, I can understand how people would really compare us!”
However, celebrity colorist Sergio Garcia revealed that the 29-year-old pop superstar wasn’t on his mind when he dyed his mane.
“I hate to say no because she’s so cute,” Kemsley said. “But no.”
At the Homeless Not Toothless charity event, Kemsley wore her hair half up, half down and complemented the tight-fitting black dress she rocked on the red carpet.
Held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, the luxury event was aimed at raising funds for veterans, homeless, foster youth and low-income people in Los Angeles to receive quality dental care.
“I had several goals. One was to create a good night and make sure everyone in the room had a good time,” Kemsley said before the evening began.
“And I think we’re definitely going to achieve that, and I think we’re going to raise a lot of money tonight.”
Paula Abdul was present to introduce the silent auction and special guest artist ’80s dance diva Taylor Dayne, and Kemsley’s Homeless Not Toothless co-board members Sharon Stone and William H. Macy were also present.
The party was filmed for “Beverly Hills” Season 13, which has not yet been given a premiere date. The entire cast was present, including Kemsley, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Sutton Stracke, Garcelle Beauvais, and newbie Annemarie Wiley.
